The first written reference to Lipí dates to 1389, when it was recorded as Lypye. On the village green stands the Neo-Gothic Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, built in 1897. An inn with a community hall also stands on the village green. Lipí has a municipal office and a nursery school.
