Svatý Jan nad Malší is a village in the South Bohemian Region.

The village grew around a chapel on Ločenická hora, and that chapel was consecrated on 16 May 1735. The pilgrimage church of St John of Nepomuk, with its 37-metre tower, was completed in 1786. The Puppet Museum and the village's permanent exhibition are housed in the building of the U Kostela pub. In 1997, the village received the Village of the Year title, and in 2018 it won the South Bohemian regional round of the competition.
