Flowers Delivered in Trhové Sviny

Trhové Sviny lies 19 km south-east of České Budějovice. The town stands at the confluence of the Farský potok and Svinenský potok streams. In 2025, it had approximately 5,262 residents.

The first written reference to the town dates from 1260 and mentions Ojíř ze Svin of the Vítkovci family. In 1481, King Vladislav Jagellonský granted it the right to hold markets twice a year, giving the town the epithet Trhové. A Gothic castle once stood on the site of today's Kozinovo Square and was demolished at the end of the 15th century. The early Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary dates from the late 13th century and was remodelled in the second half of the 15th century.
